“Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day!” - Try our print-n-play crossword and earn a prize when you turn in your completed puzzle. For children of all ages. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. “Celebrity Pajama Jam: Sleepy-Time Fun for the Family” - Put on your PJs, bring out the whole family and listen to bedtime stories read by Mr. Masucci, principal at North Elementary. For children of all ages. “Chinese New Year Coloring Contest for the Year of the Ox” - Use your coloring skills to bring the ox to life and YOU might win a prize! For grades K-6. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. “Creation Station: A Make-and-Take Craft Program” - For grades K-6. “Family Story Time: Know Snow” - Bring your family to enjoy stories and songs about snow, make a snow globe and have an indoor snowball fight! For toddlers to third-graders. Children younger than 7 must be accompanied by an adult. “Fun Time for 4s and 5s” - Join us for developmentally appropriate books, songs, rhymes, finger plays, and other activities that will help your child (age 4-5) become a successful reader. At Main Library, children must be accompanied by an adult. “Gotta Move Story Time!” - When the book opens, do you get up and dance? Can’t sit still? Now’s your chance! A story time for you! Children must be accompanied by an adult. For ages 2-5. “Guess ’N’ Go – Do You Know?!” - Guess the number of items in the jar. Closest guess wins! Sign up. “Imagine With Us: Stories and Art at the Butler Institute of American Art” - Just up the road from Main Library at The Butler Institute of American Art, one of our children’s librarians and a museum art educator will help children become master readers and create masterpieces through a story time and art activity. The program will focus on one of the museum’s major exhibits or works. Open to families of children ages 12 and younger. “Kids’ Club: Year of the Ox” - Celebrate Chinese New Year with holiday stories, crafts and games. For grades K-3. Children younger than 7 must be accompanied by an adult. “Pajamarama!” - Stories and games for children of all ages. Wear your pajamas! Children must be accompanied by an adult. “Share Your Dream for the World!” - In honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, draw a picture or write a sentence about YOUR hopes and dreams for our planet. Find out just how cold it is in other parts of the world by matching the country to its coldest recorded temperature. You could win a prize! For grades 7-12. ADULT PROGRAMS “Business & Investment Center: Small-Business Seminar” - Are you thinking about starting a business in the near future or further down the road? Attend this seminar and learn important information for starting a successful business. Members of SCORE, Counselors to America's Small Business, will address key topics for those considering beginning a business: the business and marketing plans, as well as finances. A librarian from Main Library's Information Services department will discuss the Library's sources and services for business start-up and beyond. She will also explain how individuals and community groups can participate in the restoration. “Grant Center: Grant-Seeking Basics” - Learn how the Grant Center's resources can help you become a more effective grant-seeker! This introductory session geared to beginners provides instruction in foundation research and identifying potential funders. It also includes a tour of the Grant Center.
